Approach
We use an evidence-informed brief solution-focused narrative approach integrated with various clinical models including CBT and DBT. We are non-judgmental, validate your concerns, and work collaboratively with the client. The focus is on abilities, resources, and skills that the client has or wants to further develop. Together we will target a priority concern and co-develop a plan they feel comfortable with. Counselling sessions last between 45-60 minutes.
Qualifications of counsellors
All of our staff are qualified and trained to provide this service. Each is registered with their professional College. Ongoing professional development is required several times per year. We use PCOMS (Partners for Change Outcomes Management Scale), to monitor the quality and outcome of our service. The what’s up walk-in program is evaluated quarterly.
